“We cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them.”- Albert Einstein

Problem Solving, as one of the four organizational competencies for individual contributors, is defined as the ability to weigh alternative actions and make decisions or solve problems involving varied levels of complexity, ambiguity and risk.

This two (2)-day program aims to improve the problem-solving competency of identified participants. They will be introduced to general problem-solving and decision-making principles. They will also try and apply simple tools and techniques to identify and resolve common and uncommon workplace issues.

Corollary to this, the program also aims to develop participants’ collaborative skills that involve others to identify the problem through their different perspectives and identify possible solutions together.

Course Objectives:

At the end of the two (2)-day program, the participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize the internal process and the external situation when one is being confronted with a problem;
  2. Identify and define the problem-solving and decision-making process;
  3. Implement the tools and techniques identified throughout the problem- solving and decision-making process; and
  4. Review the result of the chosen decision.
